4th International Children's Film Festival Award Winners

The main jury recommends the following awards:

1. Best children's Feature Film award is shared between:
(a)
ATALJE OOLOG | (TAKING CHANCES) | Director- Nicole Van Kilsdonk, Producer- Morleen from NETHERLANDS and (b) A PAS DE LOUP | (ON THE SLY) | Director- Olivier Ringer, Producer- Yves Ringer  from  FRANCE

The award carries a Golden Trophy to the directors, total prize money of Rupees three lakhs (300,000) and certificates. The prize money of Rupees three Lakhs (300,000) is shared between the Directors and Producers. Each director will get Rupees one Lakh (100,000) and each producer will get Rupees 50,000.

2. Second Best Feature Film award goes to
(a) DAVID AND KAMAL  | Director- Kikuo Kawasaki, Producer, Fuminori Hayashida from ISRAEL. The director gets a Silver trophy, and a cash prize of Rupees 100,000/- to be shared between the DIRECTOR and Producer ( Director gets Rs 60,000/-   and the PRODUCER gets Rs. 40,000/-) plus a certificate to each.

3. Best Animation Feature Film award goes to
(a)
Chocolate Underground | Director- Takayuki Hamana ,  Prod: Eleven Arts, Inc., from  Japan. The director gets the Golden trophy, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 1,25,000/-  and the PRODUCER gets Rs. 75,000/- and a certificate.

4. Best Documentary award is given to A  DREAM CALLED AMERICA | Directed and produced by Anoop Sathyan from  INDIA. The Director gets the Silver trophy, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 60,000/-   and the PRODUCER gets Rs. 40,000/- and a certificate.

5. The jury also recommends a Special Mention Certificate to the film HAYALIMDEKI BIDIKLET | (MY DREAM BIKE) by Serda Yalin from TURKEY

The young jury (of three students) recommends the following awards

1. Best Short Animation Film award goes to the film : LE  MONSTRE DE NIX (MONSTER OF THE NIX), Director-Rosto  Producer- Studio Rosto AD from FRANCE. The director gets a Silver trophy, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 60,000/-   and the producer gets a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 40,000/-

2. Best Short Film award is given to the film: 1+1   Director- Mo Lai Yan Chi , Producer-Banky Yeung Ping Kei  from  HONG KONG. A director gets a silver trophy, a certificate and a cash prize of  Rs 60,000/-   and the producer gets a certificate and cash prize of Rs. 40,000/-)

The young jury and the main jury recommend the Jagdish Gandhi Special Jury award to the films

(a) Unni (short Animation film) directed by Abhimanyu, Mayur Kadu, Ramjitha, Saheb and Abhilash and produced by Abhimanyu, Mayur Kadu, Ramjitha, Saheb and Abhilash

(b) The Eclipse of Taregna (short film) produced and directed by Rakesh Chaudhary. The directors will get a silver trophy, a certificate and Rs. 30,000/- each and the producers will get a certificate and Rs. 20,000/- each

SHORT PROFILE OF JURY MEMBERS OF 4TH ICFF
Ms Venniraadai’ Nirmala: A professional Bharatnatyam Dancer and film actress from down south has won National awards for best performances in Tamil and Malayalam films and several state awards for performances in Bharatanatyam. Ms Nirmala is also the recipient of  the UNESCO award for dance performances. She has also written stories and screenplay for print, television and films.

Mr Florian Steinbiss
Mr Florian Steinbiss is a Bonn based professional filmmaker who began his career as a journalist and has authored number of books. As a producer and director of feature films and documentaries, he has won a dozen of awards in the United States . His movie “Neander Jin” has an appreciative audience in Asia too and was the official selection at the Tamil Nadu IFF in Chennai and at the 10th Pune IFF in 2012.

Parvati Menon
Ms Parvati Menon is a professional filmmaker with several years of experience. She graduated from the prestigious FTII (Pune) in Advanced Direction and Scriptwriting and emerged as one of the pioneering women to take up this field. Ms Menon was the Chief Producer and CEO of the Childrens Film Society. She has represented India at national and international seminars, colloquiums and festivals as keynote speaker, jury member or resource person.
She is also a media educator associated with several institutions in various cities in India .

Rashid Irani
Rashid Irani is a Mumbai-based freelance film critic with over 30 years experience.
He has contributed to various newspapers and journals including The Times Of India, DNA, The Illustrated Weekly Of India and Filmfare. He is currently the foreign film critic of The Hindustan Times, Mumbai.

Malti Sahai
Mrs Malti Sahai has had more than 30 years’ work-experience in production, promotion and commercial side of Films, Television and Audio-Visual Media as well as teaching & promotion of Indian Culture. She also has vast administrative experience as Media Head in the Ministry of I&B, Government of India. Ms Sahai has had a two-decade-long assignment in the cultural field as director with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), Bombay, and with Government of India where she efficiently handled the promotion of Films and holding of Film Festivals.

Student Jury Members
Himanshi Tiwari
Himanshi is a 15-year-old student of class tenth, studying in City Montessori School Gomti Nagar Campus I. She has participated in various competitions like essay and slogan writing, debates, and elocutions. She has received certificates of merit for her participation in National Talent Search Examinations, Regional Maths Olympiads, International Maths Olympiad and computer Olympiad. This year, she was awarded medal for being a meritorious student of Lucknow by the Times of India and a private institution - Rubic’s Rostrum.

Ayush Awasthi
Ayush Awasthi is a student of City Montessori School Gomti Nagar Campus I. As a student, he has participated in several competitions and Olympiads, some of them being the National Talent Search Examination, The Science Olympiad and the NSTSC.

Shivani Singh
Shivani Singh  joined City Montessori School in class VIII. Previously she studied in Modern Academy School.  As a CMS student she participated in science and computer application Olympiad.
