International Children's Film Festival 2012 - Day Three 12 April 2012

Hindi film actress Vedita shines on day three
Says: “Always dream. Never compromise with education. Have the right attitude”

Lucknow, April 12, 2012: The 4th International Children’s Film Festival (ICFF) continued to add positive thoughts in minds of young schoolchildren. Many international and Indian films were screened in all the seven auditoriums of World Unity Convention Centre (WUCC) at CMS Kanpur Road Campus. Almost 10,000 students from twenty-five Lucknow schools saw animations, documentaries and feature films full of moral values and teachings.

The day began with the school prayer by City Montessori School (CMS) students. This was followed by lighting of the lamp ceremony by Special Guest Mr D Paul, Incharge St Mary’s School, RDSO and Celebrity Guest Ms Vedita Pratap Singh, Hindi film actress.

Film actress Ms Vedita Pratap Singh thanked Founder-Manager Dr Jagdish Gandhi for inviting her to the children’s film festival and said that she was very excited to be here for the event. While addressing the young schoolchildren, she explained to them the importance of having good education. She also told them about the films that she has done (Bhindi Bazaar) and the TV commercials she has appeared in (Tata Sky and Amul Macho), besides letting them know about schools she attended. While underlining the need for good education, she said: “Always dream. You should not compromise with education. If you want to get into modeling and film industry, then you will come to Mumbai. There is a lot of competition there and if you want to handle it, then what your teachers have taught in school will help you very much”.

Having studied in Christ Church College in Lucknow, Ms Vedita finally reached Mumbai to pursue her modeling and acting dreams. She also interacted with the schoolchildren in the main WUCC auditorium and encouraged them to ask her anything about modeling and acting. One student asked: ‘What are the qualities of being a good actor?’ The actress replied: “Have talent and confidence. When you’ll go to Mumbai, you will find many others who are 10 times better than you. But you have to have confidence”. Another student asked: “Is it important to be beautiful to do acting”? Ms Vedita said: “No. You have to have the right attitude”.

CMS Founder-Manager, Dr Jagdish Gandhi after welcoming the special guest and celebrity guest, congratulated Film Festival director Mr Varghese Kurian and his department (CMS Films and Radio Division) for all the preparations done for this 4th International Children’s Film Festival 2012.
