International Children's Film Festival 2012 - Day Nine 18 April 2012

Yesteryear Indian film actress Ms Kamini Kaushal inspires students

Lucknow, Wednesday, April 18, 2012: On the ninth and final day of the 4th International Children’s Film Festival (ICFF) being organized by City Montessori School (CMS) Films & Radio Division, it was time for yesteryear Indian film actress Ms Kamini Kaushal to interact with students in the World Unity Convention Centre (WUCC) auditorium at CMS Kanpur Road Campus.

Chief guest Ms Kamini Kaushal told students how she started making films for children and why she decided to give those films to Doordarshan, instead of any other private channel. Her son Mr Vidur Sood also showed a clipping of their film ‘Chandamama’. After this Mr Vidur took questions from students and explained the intricacies of filmmaking to them.

Before the start of the film show, CMS Founder-Manager Dr Jagdish Gandhi and Hon. Chief Academic Advisor, CMS Dr Sunita Gandhi welcomed celebrity guest Ms Kamini Kaushal and her son Mr Vidur Sood.

Dr Gandhi said that films being shown in the film festival would help in instilling good values in children and help in character-building. He added that it was important that children should only see good films because vulgar films influence the mind in a negative manner.

Dr Sunita Gandhi while addressing students, congratulated CMS Film Festival director Mr Varghese Kurian and said that he is doing an amazing job with his team of excellent people. She also said that the strongest sense in a human being was eyesight, as that which we see we remember. This is why movies have such an impact.

The day began with the school prayer by City Montessori School (CMS) students. Students from many Lucknow schools saw mix of feature films, documentaries and animations on the day in the morning show in WUCC auditorium. The schools included La Martiniere Boys’ College and La Martiniere Girls’ College.
